CNC Miller – Programmer / Setter / Operator

Hours: 0830-1700 Monday to Friday
Salary: Up to £41,600 depending on Experience
About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced CNC Miller with proven programming, setting, and operating skills to join our precision engineering team. Working on Fanuc-controlled CNC milling machines, you’ll be producing high-quality components to tight tolerances across a range of materials including aluminium, stainless steel, titanium, and Inconel.
This role is ideal for a skilled CNC Milling Programmer/Setter/Operator who is detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and takes pride in producing precision parts in a professional, supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
Programming CNC Milling Centres using Fanuc controls (at-machine and offline)
Setting machines, tooling, fixtures, and datums accurately and efficiently
Operating CNC milling machines to produce components to drawing tolerances
Making program edits and offset adjustments as required
Carrying out first-off, in-process, and final inspections using calibrated equipment
Reading and following engineering drawings, route cards, and work instructions
Ensuring correct packaging and handling of precision components
Maintaining machine cleanliness, coolant checks, and following maintenance schedules
Adhering to health & safety procedures and supporting continuous improvement initiatives
Candidate Requirements
Proven experience as a CNC Miller / CNC Milling Programmer-Setter-Operator
Strong knowledge of Fanuc control systems
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
Skilled in using inspection equipment (micrometers, verniers, gauges)
Experience working to tight tolerances in a precision machining environment
Organised, reliable, and quality-focused with strong problem-solving skills
Flexible and team-oriented with a positive and proactive attitude
